Stolen Boating Equipment

Recently, there have been numerous reports of items being stolen off the boats that are moored along the shores of Eagle Spring Lake.

We advise all residents of the lake to remove or lock up any and all boating/fishing equipment when not in use.  This includes gas tanks, batteries, life preservers, anchors, skis, inflatable rafts, fishing poles, tackle, etc.

In addition, we are also asking residents to keep a look out for any suspicious activity on the shorelines. If you see anything out of the ordinary, please contact the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department at (262)  363-6434 and report it immediately!

Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Carp Attack On Eagle Spring Lake

As of 07-20-10 the District is not aware of any tagged carp that have been captured.

In 2010, there are 6 tagged carp (2 from 2009, and 4 newly tagged in 2010) up for reward on Eagle Spring Lake.  The reward for each tagged carp is $500.00 each and they must be captured and turned in for reward between May 1, 2010 and September 6, 2010.

The tagged carp can be registered by calling Tom at (262) 594-3231.

The Eagle Spring Lake Management District is also asking for the participation of anyone catching carp on Eagle Spring Lake to please NOT return the carp to the water. In an effort to help the District keep track of the approximate number of carp that are removed from Eagle Spring Lake and Lulu Lake, please give those numbers to Tom Day (262) 594-3231 or Gina Krause (262) 594-3583 or any youth that is working at the public boat launch on summer weekends and holidays.

The public boat launch dumpster can be used for disposal of the carp as the contents of that dumpster goes to a landfill.

Good Luck!!

Eagle Spring Lake Riparian Owners

Please consider using the public launch for putting your boat in or taking it out, so that you can more objectively "weigh in" on whether our private riparian launch should be closed if and when the subject comes up.

2009 Act 31 - Slow-No-Wake Speed Restriction

2009 Senate Bill 12 was introduced to the Senate on January 21, 2009 and has been passed by both the Assembly and Senate and was signed by the governor in Act 31.  A  fast boating restriction of 100-feet from shorelines is in this piece of legislation and will be in effect as of February 1, 2010. Having all fast boat traffic confined to the center of the lake has brought the awareness of safety concerns.

The Lake District now (April 2010) has a exemption from this ordinance.  The Town of Eagle has approved the opt-out ordinance.  Therefore, there are no changes in our boating ordinances in 2010, they are the same as in 2009.
